CSSA provides educational, accrediting, quality assurance, certification and other services to its member institutions, STEM & STEAM Service Companies and Instructors, home school teachers, degree granting educational institutions offering education and located inside or outside the United States.

Our initiatives and programming continue to bridge the gap between what is currently and what is needed in STEM field and careers/jobs. Importantly and uniquely, our program standards and outcomes will incorporate problem-solving methods and learning strategies that will tap the rich potential of cultural differences, including gender, race/ethnicity, country of origin, language, disability, income/poverty level, sexual orientation – through an EDI lens. Our aim is to build and continually assess a comprehensive set of STEM standards that are directed toward establishing comprehensive and effective standards inclusive of socio and multi-cultural positive learning methods and resources.

Both CSSA and STEM Academy are using Maryland Department of Education STEM standards of practice as a base for the development to its Agile STEM Standards which will connect each of Maryland standards with education. STEM Academy will be testing these standards and its connection with Educational Focus & Point of interest according to NES and CCS to use the results in developing the new STEM Standards.

Program Description

The Commission on STEM and STEAM Accreditaton serves three distinct, interrelated, goals for the STEM ecosystem:

  • Licensure for community institutions/organizations prepping both STEM teachers and learners.

  • Accrediting training curriculums, methods, and tools used by STEM teachers and learners.

  • Certification for community program STEM teachers and learners.

In creating certification standards recognized by key thought and community leaders we will advance and achieve our mission.
