Professional STEM Networks

We at CSSA believe that STEM challenges can only be addressed when organizations and individuals reinforce and integrate their expertise, efforts, and resources to achieve our common mission. Our mission is realized through engagement with strong and viable professional STEM networks - creating the framework for licensure, accreditation and certification standards and requirements for the STEM field.

CSSA builds and maintains a three-component paradigm for teacher development which includes:

1. Licensing for organizations and entities

2. Accreditation for STEM programs

3. Professional Certification of K-12 STEM teachers and beyond

CSSA’s work and evolving suite of services will address, unlock, and accelerate avenues and best practice protocols that support the delivery of content and outcomes consistent with established STEM standards and associated metrics.

It is through collaboration with thought leaders, universities and organizations in the STEM or STEAM space we can progress in developing the framework for STEM standards, securing the momentum to propel the STEM field forward and build the necessary talent pool to fill the workforce gaps for STEM education.

“As demands for STEM learning outcomes change overtime the need for STEM standards for student learning and teaching must also change and evolve.”

We have designed a research project with the following objectives:

  • To review and assess the adequacy of STEM Scouts programs blending standards for guiding the quality of STEM learning projects.

  • To produce participant learning that meet required technical discipline-based knowledge and skills but also build multi-cultural collaborative skills necessary to produce predictable innovation and problem-solving results.

  • To study and test the application and expansion of standards established by the STEM Scouts programs under actual project engagement and operational conditions to determine the impact of the expanded standards on the efficacy of the program in achieving learning goals.

  • To apply the results of the project to the acquiring body of knowledge in the area of STEM Learning Projects and their content directed toward establishing comprehensive and effective standards governing STEM Learning Laboratory Projects and Programs.
